About the Author

I am a 2007 graduate of CSU Long Beach with a degree in Environmental Geography and a strong background in geology and water resources. As part of the GIS community I have had the titles intern, technician, specialist and consultant and have spent the last three years implementing and developing a number of GIS projects. I am currently working for city government in Southern California as a GIS Technician. My focus has been on helping to expand their GIS work and to provide support to the GIS Analyst. My experience has been with ESRI and their ArcGIS products. I have field experience ranging from a simple Trimble hand-held unit with ArcPad to helping develop and implement large scale field data collection with GPS and laptops. I have been a consultant with a major development group, helping map their sales data and as a specialist for a civil engineering firm, where I have completed work for clients all over the world. This blog started with a desire to use my GIS knowledge to help with my hobby of motorsports. I often have ideas come to mind about implementing GIS with different aspects of auto racing and I felt this website would be a great outlet.
